What it Takes to Change

Some people say change is hard. But it really comes down to this simple realisation:
We change when the pain of remaining the same becomes greater than the pain of trying different behaviour.
Have you found yourself at that crossroads? When you want to do something new, like lose weight, but you’re more comfortable with the way things are now? When your nagging inner voice says, “No, we don’t need to do that new thing -- because this old one is really nice and comfy.”
But when it hurts more to stay on the couch than it does to finally get up and move – THAT’S when you’ll make a change.
People in 12-step programs call it hitting rock bottom – when the drinking hurts more than the fear of going to that first meeting.
What’s it going to take for you to make the change you want to make?
Think about how you’ll feel on the other side of making that change and let that be your motivator.
